It sits atop a hill overlooking the Duck River Valley. Most folks like to grab a bottle of wine from the indoor tasting area and move outdoors to the covered patio seating. From this spot, you can see oak trees lining the Duck River and a bridge.
Ron and Kim Thomason own the winery which specializes in small batch wines made from locally sourced fruits or fruits grown on their property. The couple manages 1200 blueberry bushes and 1800 blackberry bushes. Ron develops and processes the wines himself.

As a former full-time physician, Ron has always been interested in the scientific process. Fourteen years ago, he began experimenting with making wine in the spare bathroom of his family’s Franklin home. Now, he and his wife regularly release new products to keep their winery customers coming back.
One of their most popular wines is Tennessee Waltz, a wine Ron makes from blackberries and blueberries they grow on their 280-acre farm. Two of their other unique wines are Coolasa made from 100% Hickman County cucumbers and Keg County ‘Mater Juice Tomato Wine which is great paired with a savory meal.

They also sell Crafted Cocktail mixes which they use to make their famous cocktails including the Horseshoe Mary, Blackberry Bramble, and Pearadise—a refreshing blend of Horseshoe Bend Farm Wines’ Sugar Creek Pear Wine, Crafted Cocktails Asian Pear cocktail enhancer, and Sprite.
Ron, the winemaker, often jumps in during the free wine tastings at Horseshoe Bend Farm Wines to share his vast knowledge about wine making.
Read what one happy customer had to say about their tasting:
“During the tasting, we learned more than we could have imagined about their wine making process. It was not only super eye opening, but very informative and created vast respect for the time and effort spent making this wine. It’s by far the smoothest and most refreshing fruit wine we’ve had. Would 100% recommend giving them a try.” - Brock Winters
This is the perfect getaway for bachelorette parties and a stunning venue for weddings.
Horseshoe Bend Farm Wines has two Airbnbs on-site with a rustic farmhouse design and various amenities including a TV and games for entertainment.
The Aerie at Horseshoe Bend Farm is a private 1,200 square foot space with 4 queen built-in beds. River Run Cottage at Horseshoe Bend Farm is closest to the winery with a river view.
If you’re just planning an afternoon visit however, the winery will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
